PEACE TO YOUR MIND

This life is hard to navigate on our own and our Heavenly Father doesn't intend for it to be that way. He wants to speak with us! I wrote this song as a Junior in high school as I was trying to decide what path I wanted to take in my life. Lots of questions arise in the teen/young adult years. What am I to do? Who am I to marry? Who am I really? Joseph Smith shows us the simple pattern of receiving revelation when he saw God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. As you reach out to God like Joesph, you will receive peace to your mind.

STAINS

Life doesn't always go as planned. I like to imagine us all dressed in white. As we go throughout our daily activities, we are bound to get dirty and "stain" ourselves. Some stains are big, others are small, but there is one thing in common; we can't get rid of our "stains" without our Savior Jesus Christ. As we turn to Him, He will help to purify us and wash us clean.

SOMETHING GREATER

Last summer I had the opportunity to attend Trek as a leader. The last night there, I joined in and listened to one of the testimony meetings going on. I was blown away by the strength of the youth. They continue to get stronger as the adversary's attacks get harder. They truly have been prepared for something greater.

I WILL SERVE

I had wanted to serve a mission since I was a young girl. I anxiously awaited for my call, but I was not prepared for the feelings that followed. I felt sad, disappointed, and not good enough. I remember one day getting down on my knees and just pleading with Heavenly Father that I could remember why I wanted to go and serve Him. I wanted to be excited again. My answer came as I sat down at the piano and wrote, "I Will Serve." Tears filled my eyes as I felt the spirit testify to me that the Lord needed me to serve Him. This song became a beacon of strength for me on my mission.

DON'T GIVE UP

This song has a special place in my heart as I feel it's become part of my personal battle anthem. I'm a warrior fighting depression and anxiety. I know how hard mental illness can be! I wrote this song in my freshman year of high school for "HOPE" week. Over the years this song gives me the hope to continue on and I hope it will inspire others to do the same.
